A couple of things threw me: James wants to meet at Central Park – Even though it’s been damanged in this piece, Central Park is huge. Your last line is just beautiful. With the initial read, I was under the impression that the city was still at war, and that was the reason for her reference to just a few months more. She’s got a terrific sense of humor and I love her sarcasm. Would James have given a more precise location? Great story, looking forward to reading the rest.
