The tiger, always hungry, always in search of food, after trying in vain to gorge itself on the half-decomposed corpse of a coyote, passed somewhat closer than usual to the crocodile’s territory. After pooling in a sort of trough, it spilled over its edges into the lake on whose shore I had awakened.
