We could spend as much time as we wanted, debating anything from the merits of Shakespeare to whether we thought that the Higgs Boson existed. I knew that she had a room full of games, books and assorted devices on which we could waste out time. She lived in the top half. My sister was staying with her friend Joanna, so I asked my friend Bella if I could stay with her for the week. We never decided that it was weird to share baths, even though our other friends told us it was. Bella’s house was split into two parts, the bottom half was where her parents lived, as well as the kitchen and a living room. It works surprisingly well. I almost always stayed with her when my parents were out of London and often when they were.
