She walked out, and I breathed a sigh of relief. I turned to look at her, keeping emotion from my face. I tilted my head, but didn’t reply. I filled her hard and fast for maybe the thirtieth time, and slid my hand around her throat, moving close to her. I could hear Rose’s voice over the phone, although I couldn’t make out any words. I kept stroking her, sometimes just sliding along her hair and sometimes gently massaging her scalp with my fingers. She stiffened at my touch, but all I had to do was run my hand through her hair and I could see her relax again. I took a deep breath and answered the phone. That’s it.”
