Nothing happened between Mags and I after that day for another 8 or 9 years. She was developing into a very fit young woman. Their parents both worked, so generally we had the run of the house during the day. So, Mags quickly scurried back across the room to her bed and Matron tucked her up. We quickly pulled up the bed clothes and pretended to be asleep. I saw Mags often over the next ten years, before I left my hometown, and tried on a number of occasions to get into her knickers, but it never happened.
