He didn’t quite make it and trotted around her, contemplating his next move. It was a thin, white gauze fabric that was just a large rectangle with a hole cut out for your head. I went to Tasha to help her up, “Are you okay?”
“Oh Ruby. I got the feeling Kyle’s family was highly respected in this town and that all eyes were on me. If it’s something you want to explore, then we can talk over tea.”
“Okay.” I knew it would make Kyle happy, even if he said it was up to me. “Um, Grandpa?” I couldn’t figure out what to do with it. It won’t be long.” Mother grabbed my hand as if she was excited. “Let’s get you into a shower and ready for tea.” Mother and I walked with Tasha to the house and handed her over to one of the maids, who led her upstairs.
